Summary Description:

As is a kind of glass, frit is made of some raw materials through heating, fusing and quenching processes. It has the properties of insolubility and stability. When milled up to powder, applied to various wares and well fired, it becomes a brilliant glasslike surface layer. Product Details

Frits, varying in characteristics and compositions, may be roughly classified as transparent frits，opaque frits and crystalline dry frit. They can also be classified as lead-containing frits and leadless frits. Additionally, the differences in processing give rise to two kinds of products having different shapes: granulated and flaked. The insolubility of fritted glaze enables its use independently or as a fluxing agent in composed glaze.
